The screening of Adidas vs. Puma (2016) will take place at Holocaust Museum Houston on February 3rd at 6:00 PM. This film tells the story of the Dassler brothers, Adi and Rudolf, two brothers from a small German town who created the first athletic shoe in the world – the very shoes that Jesse Owens used to win his five gold medals in the 1936 Olympics.

**Making a donation of $50 or above will automatically pre-register you for the Adidas vs. Puma screening at 8th Wonder Brewery.

The HISFF Charity Golf Tournament was a huge success!

Founder, Josh Merwin’s vision for the tournament is to create a fundraising competition giving alumni the opportunity to give back and help first generation college students from Houston. The alumni base that raises the most money overall will get a $1,000 scholarship for a student attending their school. In addition, for every $5,000 a team raises, we will give a $500 scholarship. Corporate Sponsors can sponsor a team for $5,000 per team, automatically triggering a $500 scholarship to a school of their choosing.

The festival’s goal is to create a celebrity charity golf tournament every year with actors, athletes, and directors in future years!  All are welcome to sign up for the golf tournament.  Fundraising opportunities will continue throughout the festival and beyond. We are creating a fun competition between alumni from Universities around Texas. As the donations accrue for a school they will trigger automatic scholarships for a student attending that school. In addition the alumni base who raises the most money will win a larger scholarship for a student attending their school.

“I think the biggest impact we can make for the city of Houston’s youth is giving 1st generation college students as many opportunities as possible to succeed. We are also asking our partners to create a summer 2022 internship where these students can get on-the job experience. The impact of these scholarships and opportunities will not only help this generation but also impact and leave a legacy for generations to come.”  – Josh Merwin, Founder
